General photography
This is a building in South Kensington, London. I have always had an interest in architecture even if only from an aesthetic point of view.
It is best to leave the documentation of things like this to those who really know what they need to write about...
Portfolio photography
This image was the starting point for CD packaging design and also used for the singers portfolio.
Part of the service I provide for this type of work. It is a good thing to be able to coordinate all aspects of the image needed for a project without having to rely on what an outside photographer might see as suitable.
Artwork and photography
Motown Man is more than the title of the album - Sid is Motown Man!
Of course the cover design is Detroit, it just had to be. The colour scheme might be a bit unusual, but somehow fitting.
The picture of Sid is actually taken only a few steps from a car park in north Leicestershire.
Finally; an artist that it is easy to take good pictures of. They usually try too hard to portray an image, when all they have to do is to be themselves. Booklet, tray card and onbody print were designed, plus poster and photos for the fans.
Portfolio photography
This is an actor with a slightly surreal edge!
Apart from doing theatre work and touring Europe, he has done television work and received great reviews for that.
He also does a stand up comedy act - and this is where things gets a bit weird but at the same time very funny.
This shot was used as part of his portfolio. Black and white is still the norm for this type photography and in my humble opinion there is something about monochrome photographs that makes you look differently at what you see.
Book cover design
Jack Hetzel is a minister from Texas that has written quite a few books and this the cover artwork for one of them.
Designing covers or dustjackets is a challenge. It needs to be an attention grabber without distracting from the subject matter of the book, and it is proven that the longer someone hold an item in their hands - the more likely it is that they will go ahead and purchase it.
CD packaging design
This is a well known motivational speaker who is reaching a Spanish speaking audience. It is not the first time I have worked with languages I don't speak.
Usually the body copy is provided by the client, as was the case here, but in some cases I work with professional translators who really know how to put a message across correctly in the language required.
Web design
This is a site promoting a multilingual business to business publication.
Built with valid XHTML and CSS, it is crossbrowser compliant.
I also developed the logotype and ident for both the print and web publications.
